Our organization is currently looking for a full-time faculty member to take on the role of Director of Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine, in collaboration with local health facilities. The hospitals are conveniently reachable via public transport and car from various locations across New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.

• Lead and manage Blood Bank operations at both hospitals.
• Ensure patient safety and uphold the quality of blood bank services.
• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements, including those set by the AABB, New York State Department of Health, and the College of American Pathologists.
• Supervise laboratory operations, policies, and quality assurance programs.
• Collaborate effectively with hospital and laboratory leadership teams.

• Must hold an MD or DO degree.
• Board Certification in Clinical Pathology or Combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required.
• Board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine is advantageous.
• At least one year of training and/or experience in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine is necessary, or certification in Hematology from the American Board of Internal Medicine with similar experience.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid New York State License, Medicaid number, and NY State Certificate of Qualification in transfusion services and immunohematology.
• Experience in overseeing Clinical Pathology operations and ensuring regulatory compliance is preferred.

• Base salary for this role is set at $307,610.
• Benefits include up to a 10% employer contribution to retirement plans, including 403b and 457b options.
• 20 days of paid vacation, 30 paid sick days, and 13 paid holidays.
